Keep a promise

Never make a promise to your child if you can't keep it ! Daddy has bought ko ko few board games and promise to play with him one day. However, when that day come daddy said he need to go out to do something and will be back soon so ko ko wait...wait...and wait...keep calling his daddy and daddy's answer is always 'be back soon' but the 'soon' is never come...end up I have no choice to play with him instead. At 10:00pm finally daddy called said he is coming back now but I said is ok not need to rush anymore because ko ko is going to sleep soon and I already play with him, he seem ok so don't worry. Next day, daddy really spend his time play with ko ko and he looks happy but one day when I asked ko ko to hug daddy and kiss goodnight he refused to do so... so I asked him why but he don't want to answer....After that I take chance to ask him again and below are the conversation between us:

Mummy: You don't like daddy anymore ?
ko ko : Let di di like him enough lar, I like mummy....
Mummy: You can't do that you should like daddy and mummy...because you are our son and daddy work very hard to earn money so that can give us better life and buy things to you..
ko ko : He never buy thing to me, all you buy wan....
Mummy: It is not true.....some are bought by daddy like your Ben 10 watch...board games....even daddy didn't buy he gave money to mummy so that mummy can buy things for you...you should understand daddy....daddy is a boy he need to work hard to earn money for family and mummy is a girl so my job is take good care of you....next time you will become a daddy too so you will understand later....
ko ko : But daddy never keep promise !!! always said come back soon but all cheating !!!
Mummy: Daddy must have reason...sometime things just out of our control and that day daddy's
friend suddently got a lot of question to ask daddy hence daddy must spend time helping him...if daddy didn't do so ...his friend could be angry and don't want give business to daddy then daddy will have no money and later can't give mummy money to buy thing for you.....

After my long winded explaination...ko ko seem half understand and half don't....but after that when I asked him to hug and kiss daddy he said 'I want hug hug only I don't wanna kiss !!!' At least it is a good start....hehehhe....Yesterday, daddy spent time to play with him again and today when I asked him to hug and kiss daddy again....surprisingly he is willing to do both !!! Finally this 'drama' has happy ending....kekkeke....I think daddy has learn a lesson from this:-> 'never make a promise to kid if can't keep it !' kids are sometime very sensitive.....hai...really not easy to become parent nowaday....anyone agree ?
